Note carefully that the above figures relate to foreign-born settlers only, not the Australian-born. 2. My estimates of settler loss differ from those of BIMPR which deal with those permanent departures who say they were former settlers; my estimates include Australian residents who say they are leaving temporarilty but in fact do not return.
