Articles
- The current eight issues and their individual articles will be available for sale. As new issues arrive the earliest of the eight issues will move into the free access area.
- There are free abstracts on each article available to view before purchasing your article.
- Articles for sale are provided in PDF format. You will need the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader to view articles.
From time to time some articles may not be available due to technical
difficulties, but they will be available in print format. Please contact Bronwen Perry
to purchase the article offline.
Ordering/Purchasing/Viewing
- We require you to register and create a username and password so that you can purchase items, and once purchased, login to access your purchased articles.
- Before you purchase an item we require some more of your details, and these are collected to complete the transaction and to produce tax invoices/receipts.
- If you are a government department unable to access credit card facilities we can supply you with a Tax Invoice and a .pdf file of the article you require. Please contact

- Once you have purchased an article you can login to your account and access it. Once you have logged in, go to My account and then All of your last orders. You will have perpetual access to all your purchased articles.
- The article may be saved on your desktop. If the article becomes unusable you will be able to login and download again.
- All prices are in Australian dollars. When you select a different country the amount will be converted to your currency on your credit card statement. GST has been included for Australia only.
- Once your order has been processed you can print a receipt with all the details of your order.
- You can clear your order by using the 'clear' button or 'remove' orders item by item prior to purchasing the article.
Access
- You will have perpetual access to all your purchased articles.
- Copying the contents of a PDF file has been turned off using the Adobe Acrobat security features.
- If you experience difficulties downloading or reading a PDF file from our site, send an email to Bronwen Perry
who will provide you with an alternative document. Please provide the author, title, volume number and issue of the article.
Password and login
- If you forget your password you can reset your password using your email address.
- If you cannot login check to see if caps lock is active on your keyboard.
Searching
The 'Search' button in the People and Place website will search all and only the articles in the journal. The results will provide you with either free articles or articles for sale.
Cookies
- People and Place use a single cookie to store a unique identifier for each site visitor.
- This identifier is destroyed when you quit your web browser.
- We use this identifer to record the contents of any order you are currently making before we commit this order to our database.
What if I turn cookies off?
You will not be able to order articles from People and Place using the on-line ordering system.
Security
- Your transactions are secure through the payment gateway using 128 bit SSL security. Your information is encrypted.
- Information on copyright is attached to each article. (The first page of the PDF file)
- Authors own their copyright but they sign licences so that People and Place publishers can reproduce, publish and sell their work. (see the copyright statement under Terms and Conditions)
